Another fantastic week, and I’m still going strong! The Ketogenic diet is getting clearer to me thanks to Jason Whittrok from bodybuilding.com. He explains some of the pitfalls we run into when transitioning to a Ketogenic lifestyle. I found out that I not only have to limit my carb intake, but I also need to limit my protein intake. The majority of my fuel needs to be from fats, and chicken has been pretty much a staple on all of my salads. I’ll adjust and see what happens by the end of next week.
I’m working out 5 days a week getting roughly 15 minutes of cardio (treadmill) and a half hour of weight lifting a day. I love this time because my 15 and 13 year old sons alternate days to wake up early (5 a.m.) and lift with me. My brother has been awesome and is there at the gym with us every morning. When Kelli isn’t training or preparing workouts, she’ll come too so it’s definitely a family affair at VASA fitness 🙂 Kelli has also helped me figure out how to best utilize Pruvit’s Keto drink mixes, and it has made the biggest difference! I’ve stumbled through learning the keto diet, and I definitely wouldn’t have had the success I’ve been seeing without Pruvit’s Keto drinks.
