The new year is full of hope and new beginnings, that’s why so many of us set all kinds of new years resolutions to become a new person and be better than ever before! But what if I told you that you are perfect the way you are right in this moment! That you are exactly who you are supposed to be in this moment…. and just sit with that for a minute! Sit with that for a minute and take some deep breaths, and as you breathe deep into your solar plexus think about who you are, who YOU picture yourself to be, not what everyone else thinks you should be or how you think others see you, BUT how YOU picture yourself! Are you setting your intentions everyday with POSITIVE I AM statements?! How are you speaking to yourself in your head?! Are you thinking with the end in mind? If you are setting your intentions of who you want to become and also being great with exactly who you are, but beginning with the end in mind like you already are exactly who you picture yourself to be then you are right on track! Have I confused you yet? haha!
So lets think about the word intention instead of the word resolution…. I think already intention sounds so much more soft and less harsh than resolution haha! An intention is determining mentally upon some action or result whereas a resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. Hows that for realizing how different the two are! A resolution would be to set a staunch goal, which can be daunting, like I am losing 40 pounds no ifs ands or buts! But pretty soon day after day of you focusing on those 40 pounds can get frustrating and then you lose interest and then you quit by the end of January! Setting you INTENTIONS on the other hand is really sitting down and feeling who you are and exactly what you want, and what your purpose is mentally and then going to work daily on it!
Setting intentions… this is something you do everyday, it is your I AM statements, it is in your meditations, in your prayers and your thought every second… it is who you already are and who you feel at your core that you are… even if you’re not actually there yet? YOU ARE, because if you don’t feel it, and taste it and breathe it first, then how is it going to be a reality? Every second is a new second to become who your were meant to be, if you mess up, not all is lost, forgive yourself and move upward and onward! Its the only way to go!
SO, what is your intention you are setting for yourself? Is it to be healthier? Then how are you beginning your day? What are you going to do that day to make choices to be healthier and happier every second, and in the moment!? Is your intention to feel more love for yourself and for others? To be more vulnerable?! Set the intention everyday and live it and don’t be hard on yourself! Stop focusing on cold hard resolutions that are far away in the distance and seem unatainable! FOCUS on intentions everyday and love you because you are perfect and every second is a new second to become better and the person you are NOW!
